My Love Song to Paradise Valley
Let me confess right off the bat: I’m no Bob Dylan. If I tried to sing like him, the town might consider a new noise ordinance. But I do love his music and how he makes us think about our lives and how we live them.
So, I decided to write a Bob Dylan-style song about where I live: Paradise Valley. If you don’t know about Paradise Valley, you should visit and check it out. But beware, you may not go back. I didn’t. I thought where I previously lived was great until I drove through PV.
Think of PV as a lush oasis of tranquility, beauty, and incredibly friendly people sitting in the center of one of the fastest-growing and most opportunity-rich metros in the nation—Phoenix. PV is home to sports heroes, music celebrities, and nationally recognized business icons. (Since I’m certainly no celebrity, I held my breath when I applied to live in the town.)
When they allowed me to move in, I discovered that you don’t have to be famous, but you do have to be nice, and caring, and generous. I’d bet $1,000 you could randomly knock on a PV door today, ask for help, and the answer would be yes. That’s true of Teresa’s and my door… and that’s the true magic of PV. There is a feeling that you are with family, a town full of open-armed relatives who are there to take care of you if needed.
Even the Paradise Valley Independent newspaper is special. It’s delivered to the mailbox of every PV resident every week at no charge. Who pays? In large part, real estate firm advertisers (like my firm) who know a PV listing is a sold listing because the community is so desirable.
I’d never written a song, but with the help of ChatGPT, Suno, Adobe, and CapCut, I produced “Don’t Think Twice, Paradise Valley is Right.”
This song is my humble tribute to a town I love, a town my neighbors love, a town that stands apart.
Hope it makes you smile and reminds you why Paradise Valley really is… just right.
